The numerous challenges faced by the power sector in India, like high transmission and distribution loss, theft, frequent outages under billing, have impelled to adopt new technologies smart grid make more efficient secure, leading need for interdisciplinary research area of systems management. An ambitious target Government India produce 175 GW renewable energy 2022 has created a drive towards implementing technology India. Though seems be promising solution, it requires considerable investment, infrastructure development social acceptance consumers. Investigation pilot projects clearly indicates lack consumer involvement poor development. This aims identify factors that can considered barriers develop hierarchical model. present work implemented systematic scientific approach includes content analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), total interpretive structural modelling (TISM) Matrice d'impacts croisés multiplication appliquée á un classment (MICMAC) model acceptance. result highlights importance awareness various affecting consumer’s participation successful delivery technology. It will undoubtedly help policymakers frame long-term strategies technology, especially developing country paper’s contribution from perspective, made findings on prioritising barriers, managers plan strategy grid. understand significant They also used as reference other countries with similar economic conditions are planning promote grids.
